Govind Ahuja (born 21 December 1963), better known as Govinda, is an Indian film actor, dancer, and former politician known for his work in Hindi films. Famous for his dancing skills, Govinda has received twelve Filmfare Award nominations, . The actor served as a Member of Parliament of India from 2004 to 2009. Govinda's first film was Ai Ijasam in 1986, and she has appeared in more than 165 Hindi films. He has been the biggest source of inspiration for the Telugu actors and to this day his acting and dance style is followed in the Telugu film industry. []] In June 1999, he was voted the 10th biggest star of the stage or screen in the BBC News Online survey. [8]

During the 1980s, Govinda started out as an action and dance hero and in the 90s nailed himself as a comedy hero. Earlier, the box office successes included Love 86, Alzamam, Hadaha, Jit Han Shan Si and Us. He was recognized as a comedy actor in the 1990s after playing a naughty young NCC cadet in the 1992 romance Shola and Shabnam.  Raja Babu (1994), Koli No.1 (1995), Andolan (1995), Hero No.1 (1997), Deewana Mastana (1997). ), Dulle Raja (1998), Buddy Mei Chhota Mian (1998), Inari No. 1 (1999) and Pair No. 1 (2001). In the 14th Lok Sabha elections in Govinda (Member of the Indian National Congress), Maharashtra, Mumbai, in the 14th Lok Sabha elections in 2004, [13] defeated Ram Naik of the Bharatiya Janata Party, was elected the seventh member of parliament.
